In reaction to Darby attorney Dianna Goldenson's article, "A Day Late and a Few Million Dollars Short" published in the June 2009 issue of Nature Biotechnology, United States Senator Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico wrote to the Director of the USPTO and the Commissioner of the FDA asking them to take action in resolving the problem of miscalculated deadlines in patent term extension applications, as featured in the article.
